Aliens: Fireteam Elite

The Alien universe seemed perfectly suited for making games based on it. Stunning monsters, a recognizable setting, memorable characters, and, importantly, a large fanbase hungry for new content. But, against all odds, Aliens don’t appear in games very often. The last game of the series celebrated its 7-th anniversary and we don’t even want to speak about the shooters: those who tried to shoot against the aliens would either have to play 20-something-year-old games or torture themselves with Aliens: Colonial Marines. Aliens: Fireteam Elite attempts to correct this injustice.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite begins several years after the events of the third film. The warship Endeavour responds to a distress call from the abandoned Katanga orbital station. Intelligence quickly discovers that the station is packed to the brim with hordes of xenomorphs, and that the familiar Weyland-Yutani Corporation is somehow involved in what is happening. Destroy this hive and figure out what’s going on will be a squad of three heavily-armed marines, one of whom we’ll play as.
Even before the release, players dubbed Aliens: Fireteam Elite “Left 4 Dead with Aliens” – and they were generally right. With some reservations, its entire gameplay cycle consists of shooting off hundreds of weak and stupid xenomorphs, among which there are occasionally special, much more dangerous varieties.
